Act One Yamaiichi reduces work time by 20% with metal-compatible RFID.

【News 2023/9/13】Achieving operational efficiency by applying metal-compatible RFID to lightweight temporary equipment such as scaffolding.

◆ Introduction of "Equipment Management System Utilizing Metal-Compatible RFID" On September 11, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. announced that the "Equipment Management System Utilizing Metal-Compatible RFID" has been introduced to Act One Yamaiichi Co., Ltd., a rental company for lightweight temporary construction equipment, and that during a five-month trial period, the time for inbound and outbound operations and inspections was reduced by approximately 20% compared to conventional methods. Typically, RFID communication distances decrease when attached to metal; however, this system utilizes metal-compatible RFID in the UHF band. By applying metal-compatible RFID to lightweight temporary equipment such as scaffolding, multiple RFIDs can be read simultaneously. Additionally, by capturing product codes printed on the RFID with an app, it can be linked to the equipment management system. Furthermore, the system is designed to be highly durable, making it usable even in harsh environments such as construction sites and high-pressure washing processes. ◆ Paperless Transformation with System Implementation With the introduction of this system, Act One Yamaiichi has transitioned its previously analog operations, which relied on paper forms, to a paperless format. This has enabled significant reductions in work time, decreased errors, and resolved inconsistencies in work procedures without drastically changing the existing workflow.
